I can't find anything on the Synology website that casts any light on it.ĭoes anyone have any experience with Synology systems who can shed some light on this? I'm wondering if an upgrade of the NAS OS to DSM 7 might be worthwhile (but that can't be rolled back. Installed it and all started working again. So went to Synology Download Center again and found a new version for DSM 7.0 Synology Drive Client. But after this upgrade, the Drive Client stopped working. After installation Synology Drive Server became available. The path length (limited to 247 characters) isn't the issue as longer path lengths elsewhere are being backed up OK, and I've checked the Synology client backup rules to make sure I wasn't accidentally excluding the new folder. Downloaded and installed manually the new package. The new "catalogue-V11.lrcat" file is being backed up and old versions rotated on the NAS. lrcat-data folder (and the hierarchy within it) is not being backed up. so it should just be picked up.īut when I checked the Synology Drive Client logs and on the NAS file system, the. My first attempt to throw something onto the NAS resulted. Simple, I thought, as the backup rules are set to include the folder with the LR catalogue etc. Yes, I had a freshly downloaded DSM, installed that onto a brand new Seagate 2TB HDD, which formatted the drive, and everything was new. Having upgraded to LR Classic V11, I noted the advice in Victoria's email and elsewhere to include the new "catalogue.lrcat-data" folders in backups. This appears to have worked successfully for the last 3 years or so as I have been able to recover accidentally deleted files, although fortunately so far I've not had to recover from a major failure. I use a Synology DS418 running DSM 6.2.4 to back up my LR catalogue and photo (and other) files, using the Synology Drive server and client packages. I appreciate this is a long shot, as this is a LR forum not a Synology forum, but on the offchance others are using a Synology NAS I thought it worth a post!
